Size Doesn't Matter - Really

When it comes to judging, your company identity is never revealed during the judging process. All entries are identified only by an entry number.

Creative entries from independent freelancers and small studios are placed alongside the Valley's industry giants and judged anonymously within each category. Creativity is the only consideration in this competition.

It's true! Size really doesn't matter.

It's ADDY Entry Time Again!

You have to enter in order to win! The Online Entry & Judging software is a user-friendly Web-based solution for entering, administering and judging the ADDY competition. It provides one central location for submitting, processing and judging all entries.

If you entered in prior years, you’ll still need to register again this year. From the ADDY entry website page, just click on "I am a professional" or "I am a student" to register with your email address and create a password.

First, you’ll need to review the category list to find where your work should compete, and then follow the simple drop-down menus to enter your information. Make sure you credit all the members of your creative team so that they will be recognized properly in press releases and other winner publications. Be sure to review the rules and categories guidelines for additional information about entering your work.

Note: When entering your work in the competition software, be sure to temporarily disable any pop-up blockers you may have set on your computer.

New This Year
One Less Step!
You do not need to submit a composite CD on entry day with all your images for the ADDYs Gala book. Once judged, winners will be notified of necessary images needed for publication in the winner’s book.

No More Tubes
Also, FYI ... AAF National will not accept any posters in mailing tubes this year. Please just make a print of your poster, billboard or other oversize artwork and place in a regular entry bag.

Students Also Eligible to Enter the ADDYs

The ADDY competition is open to students too, not just the pros! The AAF Student ADDY Awards Competition is a national awards program designed specially for college students. Work entered at your local level can move up to regional and national judging, just like the work entered by professionals.

Applicants must be enrolled full- or part-time in an accredited U.S. educational institution. Student interns are eligible to enter.

Submit work developed specifically for this competition or from previous projects or student contests (work must be created while the entrant is a student not employed in the advertising industry).

National winning entries may receive the following:
  • Finalist certificate — great for résumés and portfolios
  • Prestigious Student ADDY Award for first-place winners
  • $1,000 cash prize for National Best of Show winner

KIUMARS “Q” GOURK
Founder/Creative Director
Animal Creative, San Diego, CA

An art director by trade, he brings a unique and highly desired design aesthetic to advertising, interactive and, of course, design. First house trained at Fallon, he quickly left his mark on clients such as Citi, Lee Jeans, Nikon, Starbucks, Timberland, Timex and United Airlines before moving onto Colle + McVoy and Vitro Robertson, where he was unleashed to go completely wild on Minnesota Office of Tourism, Red Wing Shoe Company, Cobra Golf and Taylor Guitars. Shortly after making tracks to the west coast habitat, he founded Animal in order to make his profession take on a more personal nature, where the chill environment allows him to freely communicate with clients using playful head butts and the several different languages he’s fluent in. He also enjoys surfing when his fellow Animals allow him to go outside. Q’s captivating work has been spotted in many significant award books domestically, including One Show, Communication Arts, The Obies (outdoor), PRINT and HOW.
